- IT Admin

How long have you been at collaboration Factory and why did you join the company?

I joined collaboration Factory in August 2019. In my first job interview here, I was immediately caught by the open and communicative mentality. I was looking for an employer who could offer me the freedom to follow unconventional paths and to contribute to the success of the company both individually and as part of a team.

What do you appreciate most at collaboration Factory?

What I appreciate most are the company culture and my colleagues. Everyone who works at collaboration Factory enjoys being here and is a piece of the puzzle in the overall picture of a familial, innovative and successful company. Appreciation is one of our company values that is very important – also to our management. Unlike other companies, there is no top-down thinking. We are all on an equal footing regardless of our position and work together to find the best possible solution.

What are your core responsibilities as an IT Admin?

I understand my function as IT administrator as a responsible and challenging job. Due to the ongoing digitalization, IT supports or completely depicts many business processes and therefore represents the backbone of modern companies.

At collaboration Factory, I take care of the foundation and provide the core elements that other departments need in order to be successful in their areas and thus contribute to the success of the company. Planning and operating a secure, efficient and scalable IT infrastructure is therefore a responsible task that requires experience and foresight.

With three office locations in Germany, remote work and home office are encouraged at collaboration Factory. How challenging is it to create and maintain this New Work environment?

Unlike in the past, we are nowadays used to having access to our data and services anywhere and anytime. Distributed working requires a flexible infrastructure that is tailored to the specific needs of our corporate culture and also meets the requirements of our customers and various certification authorities. The challenge here is not only to ensure flexibility and effortless scalability but also to take into account the resulting stricter requirements in areas such as IT security.

Your job is very hands-on, and you often work across different departments. How important are our company values like ‘Appreciation’ or ‚Just Do It‘ to you and how does it work at collaboration Factory?

I am a person that likes to work very hands-on, so I immediately identified with our values especially with 'Just Do It'. For me, it is important to work out the best solution for all employees and departments. Not creating islands but building bridges and keeping an eye on the goal together. At collaboration Factory, we understand that every employee and every job is important. Accordingly, each individual is appreciated, not least by our CEO.

For people looking to join us in your team, what tips do you have?

Be open to new things, dare to think unconventionally and just do it. There is not 'the' right way, but many ways. The biggest mistake is not to have the courage to take any path at all. There are always dead ends and mistakes can happen, but even from these mistakes we learn and become better and better.

You’re involved in a lot of internal and external company events, what was your favorite event so far and why?

We have already had several events, but the biggest challenge, and therefore also my favorite event so far, was cplace Day 2019 - our annual conference on Project and Collaboration Management - with over 250 participants. The organization of the event was not only about the technology, but also about teamwork and logistics. Everybody pitched in, thought outside the box and did more than their job description would suggest. Collaboratively we put together an unforgettable event, which was rewarded with very positive feedback from our customers, partners, and participants.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

I would like to be able to be in several places at the same time or to teleport myself. I love to travel and on top of that I could be there for others even faster and better.
