Boards in Agile Software Development

A board serves as a visual representation of the tasks to be performed in agile software development. Here, the project is visualized as a process, comparable to several phases. The (task) board is usually a whiteboard, on which the tasks are attached with cards. Several columns show which tasks are in which status (in general to do, in progress, done).

In the Scrum methodology, the board, along with the burn-down chart, provides an overview of the current status of the project. In the Kanban methodology, for the team, the board is the central place to coordinate the remaining activities and actions.

In cplace, users can combine different methods. Traditional waterfall models with work distribution structures, tasks and resource assignments, interdependencies, and Gantt status and progress tracking graphs are available, as well as agile or scrum-based techniques.
