The Power of Next Generation PPM [GER]

If decades of project experience have taught us one thing, it's that classic project management software no longer gets us anywhere. Every conceivable feature has long been available on the market - and yet users end up working in Excel again. In many industries, time is pressing - the pace is increasing, the complexity of products is constantly growing, and new, highly agile competitors are shaking up the market.

So it's about time to get started and actively shape the next generation of project and portfolio management. The future in the cplace Shared Source Community has already begun - and it is collaborative, agile, and hybrid. Join us on the journey to the highly flexible solution world of tomorrow - open platforms instead of rigid enterprise tools!

  • Dr. Rupert Stuffer (Founder & CEO, collaboration Factory AG)

Product Spotlight

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the cplace Universe [GER]

Many customers have recognized the value of Next Gen PPM, the value of distributed and networked planning, and the corresponding project management for quite a while. No wonder, because especially in times of increasingly rapid change and at the same time increasing complexity, project managers realize that this is the fastest and most efficient way to achieve their goals. As success increases, so does demand.

But what is so special about cplace as a platform, and how does it uniquely support companies on their way to more flexibility, agility, and dynamics through its product features?

Experience this and more in our Product Spotlight. In addition, Peter Roehner and Navid Eskandari-Azari will show the latest product updates and provide an outlook on the focus of our future roadmap.

Speakers:

  • Peter Roehner (CTO, collaboration Factory AG)

Re-thinking the Planning Process

A strategic, cross-functional initiative focused on building a new planning ecosystem

Roche has one of the world’s largest R&D organizations, with over 13,000 people developing new medicines. The science is complex, but the Roche R&D mission is simple – to drive new drugs through the development pipeline, from initial science to patient delivery, as effectively as possible.

Planning that process – to use people and budgets in the best way across many projects – is challenging. Historically, Roche used an enterprise-scale project management system for this task. Over time, it became complex and expensive to maintain and less appropriate to a fast-changing R&D world.

The company began a ground-up development of a new R&D Planning Ecosystem (RDP), using agile principles and choosing the most appropriate technologies to create it. Their mission was to build an ecosystem that drove a change in mindset in how they plan in R&D. After evaluating many tools, they chose cplace from collaboration Factory AG as one of their key technologies. This is our journey…

  • Laurens Versluis (IT Business Partner, F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd.)

Solution Templates Vol. 2 [GER]

The next chapter of the PPM software revolution

Last year, they were presented exclusively at cplace DIGI CON: Solution Templates are the accelerator for a whole new generation of business software. They revolutionize the way innovative solution landscapes are created at large companies and bring the innovative power of market leaders, high-speed, and community power in solution development directly to you. cplace experts, partners and customers have embraced the concept and are now making their best practices available to the community.

Marvin Adami shows what has happened since the last DIGI CON and how you can bring your own Solution Template to life in just a few days using the cplace Design Sprint methodology.

Integrated, not isolated [GER]

The way to successful digitization in project management

The digitization of project management is currently one of the central challenges for companies. However, it will only lead to success if information, processes, and data models are efficiently networked - across system boundaries. Using the example of our long-standing customer, Continental Reifen Deutschland GmbH, you will learn how the requirements for interfaces have developed over time and how you as an efficient bridge builder can avoid isolated solutions. We will take you on a journey from the island to the networked system landscape!

Continental develops pioneering technologies and services for the sustainable and connected mobility of people and their goods. Founded in 1871, the technology company offers safe, efficient, intelligent and affordable solutions for vehicles, machines, traffic and transportation. Continental generated revenue of €37.7 billion in 2020 and currently employs around 233,000 people in 58 countries and markets. The company celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2021.

The Tires business area has more than 24 production and development locations world-wide. Continental is a leading tire manufacturer and with approximately 56,000 employees achieved sales of €10.2 billion in this business area in 2020. Continental is one of the technology leaders in tire production and offers a wide range of products for passenger cars, commercial and special vehicles and two-wheelers. Through continuous investment in research and development, Continental is making an important contribution to safe, economical, and ecologically efficient mobility. The portfolio of the Tires business area includes services for the tire trade and for fleet applications as well as digital management systems for tires.

Shared Source is in our DNA [GER]

How a community-based approach leads to better business software

The cplace Shared Source Ecosystem is much more than just making the cplace source code available to customers and partners. Rather, it is about bringing together the best experts from the respective domains, no matter where they work. Together with this network of the cplace team, customers, and partners, we generate the maximum added value for our customers.

But what does this business model look like in concrete terms? How can the quality of the solutions from the community for the community be ensured? What has been the experience of those involved over the past few years? Our two experts answer the most important questions about Shared Source - for Shared Source professionals and newcomers.

Speakers:

  • Dr. Thomas Kugler (Head of Solution Engineering, collaboration Factory AG)
  • Matthias Wanser (Head of Partner Management, collaboration Factory AG)

More Power to Your Product Pipeline [GER]

LOOMEO Portfolio Management Solutions

How do you succeed in developing products for increasingly fragmented markets in ever shorter times? An enormous challenge for product and portfolio managers: They have to master the complexity of the portfolio while being fast, agile, and efficient. LOOMEO Portfolio Management Solutions make cplace an agile collaboration solution for portfolio management. With LOOMEO visualizations, project and portfolio managers bring the required transparency to their portfolio and can react dynamically to short-term influences.

Using practical examples, the two LOOMEO experts show how a complex portfolio can be easily managed and evaluated in flexibly adaptable views and how a "real-time" product portfolio is generated at the push of a button. You will also learn what lean integration between product portfolio and development project management should look like.

Curves [GER]

Time-based evaluations with No-Code

Time-related information plays an essential role in projects and beyond. That's why it's important for project and portfolio managers to have an eye on it at all times.

However, time-based data presents itself in huge variety in practice: Resource requests refer to the time period of an activity in scheduling, capacities are defined per week. Activity records, on the other hand, are documented daily. If you want to keep an overview of these different values in one view, it becomes difficult because scaling these different time references is often not trivial.

With CURVES, Stephan Brügger shows a cplace solution that successfully meets this challenge.

Knowing the Way to Go [GER]

The Visual Roadmap for planning and communicating your business strategy

Is it possible to develop purposeful innovations, make strategic decisions based on data, manage projects transparently, or maintain the product assortment easily with just one tool?

Yes! Bettina Kirchner, an expert in data visualization, will be presenting the Visual Roadmap at DIGI CON. She will show how the Visual Roadmap works, how it can be tailored to individual processes in cplace in just a few steps, and how it can uncover undiscovered data treasures.

Speaker:

  • Bettina Kirchner (Executive Manager, GTV – Gesellschaft für Technische Visualistik mbH)

Low-Code Wizard [GER]

Multi-level wizards are practical software components that are useful for user acceptance and usability. Supporting business processes or recurring, more complex tasks and workflows with simple wizards is thereby an important component for project and business success. Until now, however, it was only possible to set up wizards in cplace using pro-code.

Together with Continental Reifen Deutschland GmbH and collaboration Factory, QuinScape software developers are therefore developing the possibility of using low-code to set up wizards for various use cases that are simple, fast and also adaptable for key users. This once again demonstrates one of the strengths of the cplace platform: The shared-source approach, in which manufacturers, partners and customers are jointly involved in development, quickly and dynamically creates an ever better product.
